1. Login to the CMS

2. On the home screen, select Content Management icon

3. On the Content Management screen, select Menu Management icon

4. On the Menu Management screen, select Menu Items Group Icon

5. On the Menu Items Group screen, find the category that is not being displayed

6. Edit the first category by clicking on the Edit link

7. On the Edit category screen, the default Summary tab will be displayed

8. On the Summary tab check the value of the following properties

a. Online Ordering

b. Hide

9. The property mentioned in 8a should have its check box checked

10. The property mentioned in 8b should have its check box unchecked

11. The category will be displayed if both conditions mentioned in steps 9 and 10 are true

12. If the property mentioned in 8a is unchecked then check the check box

13. If the property mentioned in 8b is checked then uncheck the check box

14. Click on the Update button in the Summary tab

15. Click on reset sync button on the top right corner of the screen

16. Verify that the category is now visible on the menu

 

If an category is still not visible after executing steps 1-16 then its service station may be offline, which will result in the category not being displayed on the menu. The items in a category may belong the different service stations but usually the items are organized such that all items belonging to a category are prepared at the same service station.  The steps to check if the service station associated with the category is online are below. 

17. Login to CMS

18. On the Home screen click on the Status Monitoring icon

19. On the status monitoring screen click on the KDS Monitoring icon

20. On the KDS Monitoring Dashboard screen find row that contains the service station name noted in step 14

21. Check the values of the two columns below for that row

a. Check-in status

b. Online/offline

22. The value of check-in status should be “Checked In”

23. The value of Online/offline column should be “Online”

24. The item will be displayed only if both step 22 and 23 satisfy their conditions. 

25. if condition 22 is not satisfied, contact the client and ask someone to check in to the KDS associated with that service station

26. if condition 23 is not satisfied, contact the client and ask someone to check the network connectivity and power to the KDS associated with that service station

27. Continue monitoring the KDS Dashboard till conditions 22 and 23 are both satisfied. 

28. Click on reset sync icon on the top right corner of the screen and check if the item is now displayed.

If a category is still not visible after executing steps 1-28, then the time slot during which it should be displayed may not be active. The steps to check the same are below.

29. Execute steps 1-5

30. On the row in which the Category name exists, there will be a column called Available On.  Note down the values of the time slots that are included in this column

31. Click on Menu Management on the top Left corner of the screen

32. Click on the Time Slots icon on the Menu Management screen

33. On the Time Slots screen, find the time slots noted in step 30

34. Click on the Edit link for that time slot

35. If the time slot is of the type Day_of_the_week_time_range, check whether the check box for today’s day of the week is checked. 

36. If the check box is unchecked then mark it as checked

37. Click on the next button

38. Adjust the from and to times for the time slot so that they include the current time

39. Click on the finish button

40. If the time slot if of the type Date_range_time_range, check whether today’s date falls in the range between from date and to date

41. Adjust the from and to dates for the time slot so that they include today’s date

42. Click on next button

43. Adjust the from and to times for the time slot so that they include the current time

44. Click on the finish button

45. Click on the reset sync icon on the top right of the screen

46. Verify whether the category is now visible
